FAQ
Getting a quote
1How do I get a quote for driveway cleaning?
Call (07) 2102 1228 or send the form on the contact page and tell us the suburb, roughly how big the driveway is and what surface it is. Photos help. We come back with a price for the job, and nothing is switched on until you have accepted it.
2What do you need to know to price a driveway clean?
Four things set the price: the size of the area in square metres, the surface it is made of, the condition it is in, and the access — how we reach an outside tap, a power point and the slab itself. Tell us those and we can quote accurately.
3Do you quote over the phone or come out and look?
Both, depending on the job. A straightforward residential driveway can be quoted from measurements and a couple of photos. Anything with heavy staining, awkward access, several different surfaces or a commercial or strata site is better seen in person, and we will arrange a time to come out.
4Do I need to be home for the quote?
Not usually. If the driveway is open to the street we can measure and assess it without you there, then send the price through. Locked gates, a shared strata entry, or a driveway we cannot see from the footpath are the times we need someone to let us in.
5How long until you can come out?
Most quotes go out within a day or two of your call, and jobs are usually booked in the following week or two. Brisbane's wet season is the busiest stretch, so lead times run longer through summer. If you need a particular date, say so and we will work to it.
FAQ
What we clean
1What surfaces do you clean?
Plain and broomed concrete, exposed aggregate, stencilled and coloured concrete, concrete and clay pavers, brick, stone and tiled surfaces. Each one takes a different pressure and method, which is why we ask what your driveway is made of before quoting rather than running everything at one setting.
2Is it only driveways, or do you clean other outdoor areas?
Driveways are the main work, but the same visit covers paths, entries, steps, patios, pool surrounds, carports and courtyards. It is the same equipment on the same trip, so grouping areas into one booking is more efficient than separate visits. List every area you want done when you enquire.
3Do you clean commercial and strata driveways?
Yes. Car parks, unit complex driveways, shared ramps, loading areas and body corporate common ground are all regular work. We deal with the building manager or the committee, plan around access and parking, and can stage a car park in sections so the site stays usable.
4Is a driveway ever too far gone to clean?
Rarely. Thick moss, years of black lichen and heavy tyre marks all come up, they just take longer and usually need a pre-treatment left to work first. Cracked, spalling or lifting concrete is a repair job rather than a cleaning one, and we will tell you if that is what you have.
5Do you seal driveways as well as clean them?
We do the preparation side of sealing, which is the part that decides whether a coating holds. That means stripping the growth and staining, spot-treating what is left, and getting the slab properly dry before anything goes over it. Ask when you enquire and we will talk through what your surface needs.
FAQ
On the day
1What do you need from me on the day?
An outside tap, a power point and a clear run to the driveway. Cars off the slab, side gates left open, pets inside, and anything loose moved off the area — bins, pot plants, door mats, kids' toys. Everything else comes on the truck with us.
2Do the cars need to be moved?
Yes, off the driveway entirely and onto the street or the lawn for the duration. Wash water carries grit and pre-treatment, and neither belongs on paintwork. If a vehicle genuinely cannot be shifted, tell us when you book and we will work around it and finish that section once it moves.
3What happens to my garden, my pets and the outdoor furniture?
We wet garden beds down before starting so any run-off is diluted, direct water away from plants where the fall allows, and move light furniture off the area ourselves. Keep pets inside while the machines are running — the noise unsettles them far more than the water does.
4What happens if it rains on the day we are booked?
Light rain is no problem, since the driveway is getting soaked anyway. Heavy rain, storms or strong wind stop the job, because pre-treatment washes off before it has worked and run-off becomes hard to control. We call you and rebook for the next available day that suits.
5How wet does everything get, and when can I use the driveway again?
The driveway, the paths around it and the lower part of nearby walls get soaked, and there is spray, so nearby windows are worth closing. We wash the site down and push the excess water off before we leave. Concrete is walkable straight away and dry enough to park on within a few hours.
FAQ
Results and aftercare
1What will and will not come off a driveway?
Mould, moss, lichen, algae, dirt, leaf staining and general grime lift completely. Old oil that has soaked into bare concrete usually lightens rather than disappears, and the same goes for rust, paint and tannin from long-gone garden beds. We tell you which of those you have before we start.
2How long will my driveway stay clean?
One to two years for most Brisbane homes. Shade, overhanging trees and the humidity through the wet season are what bring growth back, so a driveway under a jacaranda greens up faster than one sitting in full sun. Sealing the surface after cleaning stretches that interval further.
3Is there anything I can do between cleans?
Keep leaves and mulch swept off the slab, because anything organic left sitting on concrete feeds the next lot of growth. Clear the gutter or downpipe that drips onto the driveway. Hose oil drips off while they are fresh instead of letting them soak in. That is most of it.
FAQ
Service area and hours
1Which suburbs do you cover?
Brisbane-wide, within around 30km of our Wynnum West base. That covers the bayside and eastern suburbs, the inner east, the southside, central Brisbane and the Redlands — Wynnum, Manly, Bulimba, Camp Hill, Coorparoo, Mount Gravatt, Capalaba and Cleveland among them. The locations page lists the lot.
2What if I am outside your service area?
Call us anyway on (07) 2102 1228. The 30km radius is a guide rather than a hard border, and a larger job or one sitting just past the edge is often still worth the trip. If we genuinely cannot get there we will say so on the phone rather than waste your time.
3What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 7:30am to 12:00pm. Those are the hours the phone is answered and the hours we work on site. A message left outside them is picked up on the next morning we are open.
4Do you work weekends?
Saturday and Sunday mornings, 7:30am to 12:00pm. Weekend slots suit people who want to be home while the work happens, and they fill first, so book further ahead than you would for a weekday. A half-day window covers most single and double residential driveways.
